WHAT IS THE COMPANY
The company is Studio One Dance Center’s Competitive Dance Team – we compete at 4 or more competitions and attend conventions with options to compete at additional competitions/conventions. Competitive dancers take required classes during the season, participate in the recital, and a company showcase, and attend team social events.
WHY JOIN THE COMPANY?
Studio One Dance Center offers not only a top-notch training program but also a personal growth program. Company members are given the opportunity to work with guest choreographers to gain experience auditioning and performing. Company members commit to an intensive rehearsal and competition schedule in addition to their dance classes throughout the year. Each dancer at Studio One is treated as an individual. Personal attention, care, and training are our studio’s priorities. This is not just a dance team but a family where our dancers develop amazing friendships, grow in technique and develop life skills. Our Dancers receive the opportunity to learn to teach, lead, to choreograph, face challenges, balance a high-intensity sport with their day-to-day lives and effectively learn to communicate feelings and emotions.
Ms. Sarah values teamwork as a priority, with the team before the self. Our dancers train like athletes- conscious of their health and fitness. We condition, cross-train, stretch, work on our movement quality, focus on technical skills, and develop our character. Although our dancers train very hard, we have a ton of fun together! Being at a competition is like a trip with your best friends- days filled with adrenaline, camaraderie, and Kodak moments.

Company program may be a good fit for you if:
- You’re excited to learn more about dance and its many intersections with your interests.
- You love dancing and would like to perform more!
- You enjoy working collectively with peers who share your joy for dance.
- You love how dancing makes you feel.
- You’re fully committed to attending all classes and rehearsals.
Company may not be a good fit for you if:
- You’re involved in other extracurricular activities that could interfere with your class, rehearsal, or performance commitments.
- You’re doing it because you want to be with your friends but are not passionate about dance or the commitment.
- You’re doing it because your parents or teachers want you to.
- You’re not fully committed to attending all classes and rehearsals.
Most of our students are balancing multiple commitments and interests, and only some will find that they are willing and able to make the commitment that the company requires.
We offer many studio-level classes for continuing students who don’t want to or cannot commit to the rigor of the company.

Through exceptional instruction, dedication to individual growth, and a commitment to excellence, we aim to cultivate confident, disciplined, and versatile dancers who are prepared to succeed both on and off the stage. Our goal is to instill a lifelong love of dance and to enrich the lives of our students through the art of movement
ADMISSION AND REQUIREMENTS
Admission to the Company is by audition. We recommend taking a year of classes before joining to build the skills necessary.
We require that company members make a solid commitment to classes, rehearsals, performances, and competitions. Come to each class prepared to learn and without personal distractions. Each class, rehearsal, or competition is an opportunity to become better at what you love to do. Dance full-out, stretch a little further, become more aware of your technique, and make the most of every class.
At Studio One Dance Center, we prioritize teaching lifelong skills such as commitment and teamwork. Our dancers form close bonds, and being part of the company allows them to develop these crucial skills while striving for personal excellence.
